Ladders are the usually the biggest bit of house painting equipment. No surprise that they are also thrown around the comedy-slapstick stage by The Three Stooges and The Chuckle Brothers.
Although scaffolding seems rather over-the-top, scaffold towers are a much lovelier story when it comes to painting. Scaffold towers don’t need a huge team of men wrapping your house in modern art, demanding tea every ten minutes.
What DIY pundits recommend these days is an aluminium scaffold tower. Not only are towers lots more practical, but they also provide you with something quite special to boast about down the pub, while looking professional slapping on the paint.

We expect a lot out of a roof: most of us go to work simply to ‘keep a roof over our head’. Our roofs protect us from rain and keep our houses warm. But if you leave your roof to deal with that all on its own it’ll cave in (excuse the pun!); your roof needs support and a bit of nurturing. A carefully looked after roof will last many years.
Of course, you can get someone else to come in and sort any teeny problems out: a tile at a jaunty angle; a little, niggly leak; a bit of blistering on the garage roof. But there are things you can do on your own without ever having to place a nervous foot on the roof itself.
